Situation:
Unable to consistently meet their customer's fluctuating production needs, a supplier looked for assistance with improving material flow and revamping their existing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to reduce excessive inventory carrying costs. 

Solution:
ASG developed recommendations to improve the existing MRP system by:

• Analyzing overall production and materials handling processes
• Facilitating cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improved materials flow and better utilize the existing MRP system by eliminating waste

Result:
Supplier was able to improve material flow and eliminate significant amount of waste from the process. Material is now tracked through a "Just-in-Time" process, which reduced inventory expense by $220,000 per year.
